Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.
Nine people were injured while residents in the city's east were left without electricity and faced disruption to drinking water, according to city officials.
Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.
Moscow has escalated attacks on electrical systems over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.
"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing restrictions," was stated in a public message.
Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.
Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.
A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.
Several of the people injured in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.
Regional authorities said the urban area endured significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were wounded.
The attacks succeed periods of air raids in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.
All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.
Government officials told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.
Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
